why irecycle

Saving our plant

You can do that by improving the recycling and increase the diversion rate of the waste from landfill. Segregate your waste at home will increase the rate of recovery of the recyclables and decrease the waste quantity that going to the landfill which will lead to reduce in carbon dioxide as well as reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing energy consumption. Using recycled materials to make new products reduces the need for virgin materials. This avoids greenhouse gas emissions that would result from extracting or mining virgin materials. In addition, manufacturing products from recycled materials typically requires less energy than making products from virgin materials.

Recycling facts

A Landfill is a specially designed facility for the burial of municipal solid waste from households, schools and shops. It contains biodegradable organic matter such as kitchen waste, garden waste, and paper. Biodegradation of these materials generates a mixture of carbon dioxide and methane. If air is present during waste biodegradation, more carbon dioxide is produced, whereas in the absence of air, anaerobic digestion takes place. This is a biological process that produces methane from organic materials. This is important as methane is a much more potent greenhouse gas (GHG) than carbon dioxide, and minimizing its release slows increasing global warming. Change only happens when individuals take action.
